St Mary Magdalen’s is a Catholic, Voluntary Aided Primary School for children aged 3 to 11 years. It is situated in the centre of Brighton, very close to the main shopping thoroughfare of Western Road.
The main building dates from 1968 – we have a nursery class and then seven other classes which range from Reception to Year 6.
We have three different playgrounds and a small environmental area, but no playing fields of our own. We have a large, airy, multi-purpose hall and recent extensions have added a computer suite, a library, an extra classroom and a smaller room, which is used for specialist group teaching or counselling.
Children at St Mary Magdalen’s come from a wide range of backgrounds; we are a Catholic school but welcome a number of children from different faiths and religions.
We teach the children to respect and value differences, recognising that each person is created in God’s image and, as such, is unique and special.
