PE Curriculum

At St Mary Magdalen’s Catholic Primary & Nursery School our intent is to provide a fun, wide-ranging, and high-quality physical education for all our children.

Through our PE curriculum children learn how to be physically confident, experience competitive sports, and develop their resilience and well-being.

“Do you know what my favourite part of the game is? The opportunity to play.” Mike Singletary

In PE, our children learn how to run, jump, throw, catch, dance, swim, yoga and gymnastics. They take part in local and inter-school sporting competitions, sports fairs, and adventurous outdoor activities. We play hockey, touch rugby, basketball, football and cricket.  Our after school clubs include: football, multi-skills, karate, dance and skateboarding.

PE teaches our children how to work together and play fairly; how fitness and exercise is important for their physical and mental wellbeing; and how to take risks and be resilient.  These skills will help them as them grow and develop into adulthood and beyond.
